The lngfewood Public Library is pleased to offer free access to online e-books from "Open Library." Library patrons, using a library computer or a personal digital device connected to the library's WiFi network, can now download and borrow up to five e-books for two weeks. Over 100,000 e-books are available from the Open Library site.

To borrow e-books through Open Library, library patrons must sign up for a free Open Library account. Some e-books require downloading OverDrive software or Adobe Disital Edition software to your digital device. Some e-books are in BookReader, PDF, ePub format, and Daisy
audio recordings. These editions may be read or listened to immediately online in a web browser where no special software is required.

"We are very proud that the library is able to offer this new e-book service to its patrons," said lnglewood Mayor James T. Butts, Jr. "Our library staff is constantly looking for ways to improve and expand services for the benefit of all library users,"

Open Library is an initiative of the Internet Archive committed to building a digital library of Internet sites and other cultural artifacts in digital form. Libraries participating in Open Library have contributed digitized books from their collections to be borrowed by patrons from anywhere
in the world.

In addition to e-books, library patrons will also have access to over one million physical books,which can be ordered from Open Library through WorldCat ( WorldCat is the
largest network of tibrary content and services, which allows users to search through the collections of thousands of libraries around the world.

Inglewood's Main Library is located at 101 W. Manchester Boulevard and the Crenshaw-Imperial Branch is located at 11 141 Crenshaw Boulevard. For additional infomation regarding this
